A Day in the Life of a Porter

Curious about what your day will look like as a Porter at Shades of Green? Here’s a snapshot of your daily routine:

  • Clock In & Review Your Tasks: Start your day by checking in and getting ready to tackle the tasks ahead. Check Asana, our cloud-based task management program, to see what needs to be done for the day. 

Your Daily Duties Might Include:

  • Clean-Off Trucks: Ensure trucks are spotless and ready for service.
  • Load Trucks: Prepare for the day by loading trucks with fertilizers, seeds, and other essential products.
  • Check Truck Essentials: Make sure each truck is equipped with everything it needs, like flags and a full tank of gas.
  • Create Lawncare Flags: Make and prepare flags to identify serviced areas.
  • Maintain the Shop: Keep the workspace tidy by taking out the trash, cleaning the bathroom, and sweeping the office.

Then it’s time to finish up your day, ensuring everything is in order. Clock out and end your day with a sense of accomplishment, knowing you’ve played a crucial role in our operations.
