What's included in a Shades of Green lawn care program?
Every package covers the basics a lawn needs to get thicker and greener: custom-blended fertilizer, broadleaf weed control, a two-part crabgrass program, grub and insect protection, nutsedge spot treatments, a micronutrient package and pH adjustment. Technicians visit every 4 to 6 weeks from March through November, and service calls between visits are free. The Preferred and Premium packages add soil builders, fall core aeration and overseeding.

What do the four lawn services do?

Fertilization
We blend our own fertilizer for the high-pH soil around Lafayette and apply it in smaller doses through the season instead of a few big ones. That's how the grass stays green without surge growth.

Crabgrass and weed control
Pre-emergent in fall and spring stops crabgrass before it sprouts. Broadleaf treatments and spot sprays handle dandelions, clover, thistle and nutsedge once they show up.

Aeration and seeding
Core aeration pulls plugs out of compacted soil so air, water and nutrients reach the roots. We seed at the same time, in late summer and fall only.

Insect and grub control
One late-spring application protects the lawn from grubs, billbugs, chinch bugs, sod webworms and armyworms through fall. It's in every package.
What don't we do?
We'd rather you hear this now than after you sign up.
• We don't mow, trim or do landscaping. Mowing is only offered to customers on a lawn care package.
• We don't treat landscape beds. Indiana requires a separate license for that, and we don't hold it.
• We don't seed in spring. Spring seedlings usually die in summer heat, so we seed between mid-August and late September.
• We don't do partial programs. Every application depends on the one before it, so we ask every customer to take the full package.
• We're not the cheapest option in town. Our two biggest costs are good products and well-trained technicians, and we don't cut either.

How much does lawn care cost?
Packages start at $41, $61 and $93 a month for a 3,000 sq. ft. lawn on a 12-month plan. The pricing page shows exactly what each one includes and what makes your price higher or lower.
